These terms are an agreement between you and Coretech Labs (“we”, “us”), based in Singapore, for your use of Nani?: the Mac app, the online services it uses, and this website (together “the Service”). By creating an account, buying a plan or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Nani? transcribes the audio of meetings on your Mac and shows live translated subtitles, along with notes, alerts, catch-up bullets and summaries generated by AI. It relies on third-party speech recognition and AI providers, described in the Privacy Policy. We may improve, change or stop features over time; if we remove something significant from a paid plan, we'll tell you in advance.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a plan, and at least 16 to use the Service.
- Sign in with an email address or Google account you control, and keep access to it secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- An account is for one person. Don't share it or let others use your plan.
3. Plans, meeting time and limits
- Each plan includes an amount of meeting time per month: the time subtitles are running. When the meeting audio and your microphone run together on one Mac, that time counts once.
- Allowances reset at the start of each monthly period: the calendar month on Free, or the monthly anniversary of your subscription on paid plans (also for yearly plans). Unused time doesn't carry over.
- On a paid plan you can buy a top-up of 5 hours. Top-up time can be used until the end of the monthly period in which you bought it.
- To prevent abuse, each plan also has limits on the number of translations, catch-ups and summaries per month. They are set well above normal use; if you reach one, contact us.
- The current plans, allowances and prices are on our pricing page.
4. Payment and renewal
- Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and you authorise us to charge your payment method for each renewal at the then-current price, until you cancel.
- Prices are shown before you pay, in Singapore dollars in Singapore and US dollars elsewhere. Where we must collect GST, VAT or sales tax, it's shown at checkout.
- If you switch plans, the change takes effect immediately and is prorated: you're charged or credited for the difference for the rest of the billing period.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a short time. If it still fails, your account moves to the Free plan until payment succeeds.
- We may change prices. A new price applies to an existing subscription only from its next renewal, and we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance so you can cancel first.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Manage Billing). Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Refunds are covered by our Refunds & Cancellation policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to transcribe or translate any conversation without the notice or consent that the law or your organisation requires. You are responsible for meeting those requirements in the places where you and the other participants are;
- use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes others' rights;
- get around plan limits, use the keys or connections the app receives for anything other than the app, or access our servers except through the app;
- copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law allows it;
- disrupt or overload the Service, or try to access other users' data.
7. Your content
What's said in your meetings and the text you enter (glossary, notes, names) is yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to provide the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't store your meeting content. You're responsible for having the right to use the content you process with the Service.
8. AI output
Transcription and translation of live speech are produced automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or misleading, including names, numbers, nuance notes, alerts and summaries. They aren't professional interpretation or advice. Check anything important with the speaker before you rely on it, especially for legal, medical, financial or safety matters.
9. The app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Nani? app on Macs you own or control, for as long as you have an account, under these terms. The app may update itself to keep it secure and working with our services. We and our licensors keep all rights in the Service; open-source components it includes are licensed under their own terms.
10. Third-party services
The Service depends on providers such as Apple, Google, Soniox, OpenAI and Stripe. Their availability is outside our control, and your use of Google sign-in and Stripe checkout is also subject to their terms.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or by asking us. Deleting it cancels any subscription straight away. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we must by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable we'll warn you first. If we close your account without cause, or stop offering the Service, we'll refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
12. Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that translations will be accurate. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business or decisions made based on translations. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing excludes liability that can't be excluded by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date and, if the changes are significant, tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem. Otherwise, disputes go to the courts of Singapore, unless the consumer law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refunds & Cancellation policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If we translate these terms, the English version prevails.
